| Posted: 08 Mar 2016 01:36 AM PST I look like a muscular six foot toothpick. (The stereotypical cowboy look.) I am looking to find ways that I can use this to my advantage on the floor and add some stylistic color to my existing dances. I dance swing, standard, latin, etc, and dabble in everything else. |

| Question: Am I to old to become an amazing dancer? Posted: 07 Mar 2016 04:12 PM PST It isn't just about your age. Most who start young don't become "amazing" dancers. You have to be born with the right gifts then you need the best training. Nobody becomes amazing even if they have natural talent without proper training from a qualified teacher. No, 13 is not too old but without being born with the right gifts and right training this won't happen. I see someone mentioned Misty Copeland. She started at 13 and born with amazing gifts and was in professional full time training within three months of her very first ballet class. As your goal is competition dance not professional dance your chance of reaching your goal is more attainable. You will still need to get proper training. This is not something you can do on your own. |
