| Question: I feel like a bad friend? Posted: 03 Oct 2016 07:58 PM PDT No, but you ( or your friend ) have a good imagination. Getting parts in films doesnt work like that. Movie directors don't do the casting by the way. That is what casting directors are for. Nobody goes and calls people up to offer parts unless they are big stars. You go to auditions. Your manager doesn't usually set up auditions. That is what agents are for. You audition then have a call back. You don't get offered a part until you audition. Auditions are held where the work is in big cities where they film. If you are going to make stuff up at least learn what you are talking about first. Of course this might just be a line of fantasy your friend told you I suppose and you bought it. |
| Question: What to do and not do at auditions? Posted: 03 Oct 2016 07:41 PM PDT I went to my first performance audition that includes dance. I had to pick up choreography. I thought I did well but they didn't pick me along with a few others to go to the next portion. My bf works with people there so out of curiosity I asked him if he could ask why I didn't go on when he goes to work. Today he came back from work and told me that there were some girls who were chatty so they didn't go through and this one guy and I didn't go through because he was more focused on me and talking to me and I apparently seemed focused on him when what was really happening was just me being nice and smiling and nodding back at him as replies. That was the only thing that cost me because if it wasn't for that then I would have gone through. So, I feel like there may be more I need to learn about the audition process. What are things I should definitely do and not do at auditions? Give me as much pointers as you can! Thank you! |
