| Question: What became of British Officer Cyril Basil Tremayne Harrison and wife Dorothy Smyly? Posted: 04 Jan 2016 10:23 AM PST They were my great grandparents, Angela Tremayne and Vivian were their daughters. Some time after births, Cyril and Dorothy left their home in Victoria, BC, Canada where they had immigrated, leaving the girls behind for some unknown reason. Cyril and Dorothy were both born in England and Cyril served for the British Army in India at some point. My research has come up with nothing. I don't remember Cyril's exact rank, but he was high up in the British Army in India. Does anyone have any information on this? I found his sword being sold in England at auction in 2013. I don't know who bought it. Angela later married RCAF Flying Officer Thomas Alfred Thornycroft Rhodes (his second wife) in Victoria, BC, who had 2 daughters: my mom Sheila and Aunt Gillian. There are rumours Cyril and Dorothy went back to England but that is not confirmed. The girls ended up living with my Great Great Aunt Eileen in Victoria. Any questions, just ask. |
| Posted: 04 Jan 2016 05:55 AM PST So grandpa; cousins daughter is grandpa's 1st cousin once removed , one of your parent 2nd cousins and your second cousin once removed. That is based on IF yu share a common blood ancestor, if this aunt is married into the family and you share no common blood ancestor then you are not related |
