Question: What kind of creative jobs are there?

Posted: 23 Jan 2016 03:12 PM PST

It's not so easy to answer your question because creativity comes in many forms, and while some people might do a job in a creative manner, another person might do the same job in a non-creative manner.

For instance, I know a guy who builds houses, and he does it really creatively in terms of the products he uses for the house and how artistically he puts them together. Other people who build houses, though, might do them just by following the blueprint exactly. Another example would be writers. Some writers end up with jobs in advertising, for instance, and perhaps they just string the words together without putting their heart into it. Other people, even in advertising, may be trying to really bring something new to what they write. It can become a creative act.

This kind of thing can be true of many jobs such as teaching, working with animals, or the more traditional kinds of creative work such as is found in the visual arts or with writing.

I know this isn't the kind of answer you wanted, but I think it is really true. You can be creative in most jobs. But you are the one that would have to bring that sense of creativity to it. It's not really the job itself that is creative.

I hope this helps. Good luck finding the perfect job!

Question: Describe the types of photographs that you like to keep and say what they mean to you. Many thans?

I keep many digital photos of beautiful scenery, happy family moments, or food, and sometimes humour, but the printed photos I keep are usually of my childhood. I'm sure a lot of people are just the same. I have them stashed away, but some I stick on my wall. One is me at age 11 when I won second place in my first rhythmic gymnastics competition. Another is a class photo in 2004 where I am sitting next to a smiling friend of mine, who sadly passed away at around 7 years of age. Other ones are polaroids from my very close friends in the country I used to live in. They didn't know what to take pictures of, so I jokingly asked them to take pictures of places in the school. They did just that. The lonely table we sat at during lunch, the toilet cubicle I always went in, our physics lab, and a bench outside the school library.

I treasure my friends and it's nice to reminisce while sitting at my desk, and think about good times in my childhood.
