And there are plenty of books about how it changed. Go to your library and read some of them. One good short one, which covers the mid-20th century in the South (where some of the most important events in this process took place) is "The Disruption of the Solid South" by historian George Tindall. |

| Question: Does anyone care about American Indians anymore? Posted: 28 Jan 2016 06:28 AM PST I am amazed at just how many of them exist, if they were basically killed off. Particularly fond of Connecticut, the land of the Extinct Indian Tribe Casinos. Foxwoods Casino - Pequot - wiped out in two Pequot Wars three hundred and fifty years ago. Mohegan Sun - Mohegan - eradicated by fellow Iroquois Nation tribes. There's even a book about the last of them, set during the French and Indian War, some two hundred and fifty years ago. |
