SO I'm on a site called fictionpress and it's all fun and dandy and all that shiz! But I can't help but noticing 2 things:

1: People aren't reviewing, over 1000 views on a single story, but hardly any reviews! Da fu ?
2: People unfollowed me when I censored my story O-O Id my main story ( Love is a Dead Man's Game) Reallllllyyy only good if it has smut??? Like geez thanks o-o

My local librarian just said this to me yesterday, coincidentally enough--so I know it still gets said. I think what they're saying is "I like to read and be scared by those books, and I'm afraid that makes me insane, and I'd rather project that worry onto the author than think about it myself."

Projection is one of those really common bits of human psychology, along with displacement and rationalization.
