Arts & Humanities: Dancing: “Question: Country dance help?” plus 4 more

Question: Country dance help?

I was at a country bar and saw a really fun country dance it was like back for a four count then forward for a four count then a running in place while turning your body back and forth from left to center

Anyone know what dance it was and can link a video to it or something. Sorry it's a vague description can't really remember it

Question: What are the steps needed to open up a small Dance studio? as well as in becoming a certified dance teacher?

Update : I want to open up my dance studio in the next year or so. I'm starting college in the Fall majoring in Early Childhood education so I have the legal rights to teach children, I'm temporarily going to be a kindergarten teacher.

While I'm there, I'm going to take a couple of elective classes in Business so I can know how to run a business properly. But I need to know the steps.

What is the best program for becoming a certified dance teacher?

Update 2: I have looked into some online programs, but with online programs there doesn't seem to be any "proof of requirements met" so there for just about anyone on there can apply and get accept and call them selves certified. I'm not willing to spend 150.00 bucks on that.

Question: Should I audition for so you think you can dance?

Posted: 10 Jul 2014 10:37 AM PDT

It would mostly be for fun.

I started dance and gymnastics when I was 8. I took some jazz, some ballet, some tap, some hip hop. Pretty minimally. When I was 12 I decided to do all around gymnastics and quit dance.

When I was 17 I broke (fractured) my back and that was that. I also had a few herniated discs. I began to coach gymnastics.

Now I'm 24. I play in the gym sometimes. I can still do walkovers, front and side aerials. I can do back handsprings and tucks but I get in my head more with those. I'm still pretty flexible and strong.

I haven't choreographed in a while, and I don't really think I'm good enough. But would it be worth the audition? (I know they're not going on right now).

I think I would do contemporary with some acro thrown in.

Let me know what you think or any advice?

Question: Is it fair to call girls who can dance well as sluts?

Is it fair to call girls who can dance well as sluts?

so I always have had this passion for dancing since i was a kid. I can follow the rythem and always been complimented for my moves but I overheard some people thinking that I danced like a slut...
I have no intention in being or showing off as a slut it just hurts me to think that people actually think like that.. i enjoy twerking sometimes but I never seen it as a 'slut move' it just goes with the flow while dancing (reggaeton,zumba,hip-hop ect ) so im starting to think about quitting dancing now.. I dont know. Please help

Question: What's the lift called that Cyrus and Tiffany perform on So You Think You Can Dance?

What's the lift called that Cyrus and Tiffany perform on So You Think You Can Dance?

My friends and I take some of the choreography from the show and we would love to use this acro lift. It's the very first lift in their dance, "Best Thing I Never Had" by Beyonce. We would love to attempt it, but we can't find the name of it. We also want to know if someone does know the name, if they could also find an explanatory video or page on it. Thanks!!
