So I'm going into my second year in college and we have a directors unit. I've got ages till I have to write the script but I want to start brainstorming ideas now! I don't want a depressing peice, I want something maybe scary/serious/comedic peice which will keep the audience on the edge of there seats! I want to start it off with a eye grabbing beginning. It's in a theatre that seats 160 people, fairly small but I want my piece to stand out! Any ideas! Will be much a appreciated,
what to base it around?
Genres?
Characters?

Ps. I like the vampire diaries and orange is the new black.
Obviously can't do it with vampires that'll be slightly more advanced but I like the whole storyline and love triangles.
