Arts & Humanities: Other: “Question: Please help?” plus 4 more

Question: Please help?

You simply have to carry on with your life.

Fear is actually one of the worst thought-patterns you can allow into your mind.

I was nearly killed in cold blood by some drug-crazed maniac about eight years ago. That put me into 'fear mode'. I have managed to get over that and be comfortable walking around outside again.

From your description, he sounds like a homeless old man, probably an alcoholic or drug addict. Don't worry about (or even think about) him. Get on with *your* life. :)

Perhaps get a can of mace so that if someone approaches you and is intimidating you, well, you spray them with the mace.

If your life is in danger, that would just be an act of self-defense.

Question: Is there any eastern equivalent to western Tragic Drama?

Maybe you should get a book on Chinese, or Japanese, or some other Asian culture's drama and read it and find out. Wouldn't that be smarter than asking random strangers to give you answers that may or may not be correct (and that won't have any sources or footnotes, so you can't even tell whether they are correct)?

Stop being stupid. Learn to do simple research like a grown-up.

Question: Why are some folks afraid of elevators or stairs?

Posted: 19 Jul 2014 11:04 AM PDT

Elevators, while being touted as being extremely safe, can fail. The odds of a failure is small, however, the odds go out the window if you are in the elevator when it fails. While they have safety measures to prevent them falling from upper floors to the basement, it is more likely that the elevator might become lodged between floors due to mechanical failure or a power failure and one is trapped in the elevator until rescued.

As far as stairs, the elderly are more afraid of those. Old joints don't work as well as young ones. Also, balance can be effected by age. The elderly are afraid to fall. Especially down stairs because old bones are quick to break and slow to heal. A broken hip on a person over the age of eighty can be a death sentence.

Hope I helped.

Question: I've lost my passion for art and don't know what to do.?

Posted: 19 Jul 2014 05:58 AM PDT

I've been drawing since before I can remember, but my passion has dwindled with the number of friends I've lost over the years...the loss of a family member was an extremely hard blow...I rarely draw now and when I fight with my significant other, I cant even lift a pencil. I now wonder if I was actually ever an artist to begin with since it has always been the people I cared about that gave me inspiration and not just something as simple as say..a tree or something like that. Even music gives me no inspiration anymore. I'm nearly a senior in high school and am already doubting something I'm very skilled at for my age. What can I do to make myself feel the need to create beautiful art again?

I doubt anyone will answer this..but I don't know where else to go for answers since my own family never listens to me...Can someone, anyone, help me find a reason to continue working on something I love?

Question: What are some interesting art topics i can discuss with someone who was minimal knowledge of art?

What are some interesting art topics i can discuss with someone who was minimal knowledge of art?

So my gf and i are going to an art show today, its just a regular art show with no specific theme or style. I have a fair deal of knowledge about art, but my girlfriend has minimal knowledge. What are some topics i can discuss with her without being condescending or boring?
