| Question: Please be a talent show judge!? Posted: 24 Oct 2015 02:28 PM PDT If there is a talent show, and two competitors are given: 1. A band (3-5) people playing AC DC music(Highway to hell) and rolling stone(I can't get no satisfaction). 2. A solo pianist playing Chopin Ballade No.1(flawlessly) Which one of these competitor/group will you choose? I am trying to enact a scenario for this year's talent show in my school. |

| Question: What should I be doing as a Music Education major? Posted: 24 Oct 2015 10:09 AM PDT Frankly, I would suggest that you spend most of your summer practicing your major instrument. Your teacher will certainly load you up! If you are not in college yet (accepted, not attending yet), then continue to study with your home teacher. If you have not gotten into college ye (have not played your audition and been accepted) - then GEEZ!!! - work your butt of with the finest teacher you can get to, and also take some audition-prep seminars. If you have all that covered already, then take piano lessons (if piano is not your major instrument). ALL Music Ed majors have to take piano in college or exam out - and it is a PITA to take it while juggling so much else (lucky me - I had piano as one of my two major instruments - required to SPLIT them, not take them simultaneously). I just read other questions of yours - sound like you are NOT in college yet. So - it's all about your MAJOR performance area now. As far as the boyfriend - kick him to the curb. This is not just because you and he have different beliefs - but because he is so violently DISMISSIVE of *your* beliefs. There are lots of *mixed* relationships - but the 2 people in them are courteous to each other. Added - clarification of some points. Where are you applying? |
