| Question: What does my art teacher mean by this question? Posted: 28 Oct 2015 10:46 AM PDT I am taking a college elective art class and have to write a paper about a painting. I picked the painting "Alexander the Family of Darius" by Sebastiano Ricci, in case anyone is wondering, but one of the questions I have to answer is: What is the relation of shape to space in the work? I m not sure how to answer this or what she means exactly. Please help! Thanks! |

| Question: Hey Photographers i need help!? Posted: 28 Oct 2015 08:01 AM PDT If you do not know the answer to what gear you need, you surely are not ready to shoot weddings! Are you doing it for free? Are you working alongside an established professional so you actually know the ins and outs of the business? After devoting at least a few years working alongside established pros and designing your business plan, there is no way you should not know what gear you will need! You don't just go in all la dee da when it comes to running a photography business (least of all weddings). Weddings are a beast, I have much respect for those who take on the hardships and liabilities of shooting this (supposedly) once in a lifetime event. I have done some for close friends and family, but recommend to them to have someone with the gear/experience (I do landscapes). I have turned many people down when they wanted to pay me to do their weddings. I do not want the liability and neither should you without the proper preparation. You will need liability insurance (in this sue happy age, even if you thing you did great), a business license (they will find you, especially if your state has sales tax, just ask those in Washington who got a call), damn good marketing experience/skills, knowledge of business laws, backup gear, a reviewed business plan (I do not know a single successful business that did not have one in the start), years of experience working alongside those who know what they are doing, just to name a few. Photography is no different than any other business. You will be sued and fined for not going at it properly. Do what I recommended, by then you will know the answers you need. This is not something you want to just jump into! |
