Question: Am I suffering from discrimination due to the unique nature of my art? Or does the problem lie with me?

I am an Art History major at UC Berkeley in California. In my first year, I would paint on canvas, and my art (political at the time) was featured all around the bay area, even at the SFMOMA galley in San Francisco! Recently however, I was attracted to alternative art, so I began to use bodily fluids, such as fecal matter, semen and my girlfriend's period blood to express what's truly inside of us. Unfortunately, my most recent paintings have been rejected from nearly every event and venue I have tried to display it at! Is this a case of discrimination? I was a prominent member of an Anti-Islamophobia conference a little while back. Is my art to nuanced for the masses? I don't get why I am being barred from doing what I love!

PS. Thank you to the Bound Together Anarchist Collective Bookstore for continuing to display my art!
