Posted: 02 Sep 2015 06:49 AM PDT "our reality is false" is a weird way to put it. It's possible that what we call reality is not in fact reality. It's possible our entire lives are a dream. But it's extremely improbable, so it's a waste of time thinking about.
Question: Why aren't people more curious about the universe? Posted: 02 Sep 2015 06:12 AM PDT Why aren't people more curious about the universe? --- What exactly ought we to be more curious about exactly? I find space, the universe, and consciousness to be well-understood, rather simple, and typically boring. Hawking may be a brilliant physicist, but in philosophical terms he's a cretin. This "world" is not "crazy"...it is bland, dull, entirely predictable, and overall uninspiring. I think it's high time we learn to be brutal with ourselves. The situation is NOT that the universe is amazing....it is that the universe is utterly UNamazing....but humans refuse to accept that fact. UPDATE: Your comment is a great example of what I'm talking about. You said: "I just can't comprehend the fact that the majority of people don't question our existence.." --- We do. But some of us are looking for answers...you are just looking for questions. :Sometimes I just feel like you people have different brains than me.." --- We do....there, see how simple things are. The universe is mysterious only to those who refuse to understand it. "and that I'm just living in my own world" --- You are. You 've used semiotic processes to produce an overall meaning to existence that isn't there in actuality.
Question: Is it better to be completely ignorant, than to have only partial knowledge? Posted: 02 Sep 2015 06:00 AM PDT Sometimes partial knowledge is plenty enough. At my old job, all my coworkers were treating me very badly for apparently no reason at all. One day, I was in the right place at the right time, and I caught a jealous coworker telling another coworker a total lie about me. Suddenly everything made sense. Even though I never got to hear all the other misinformation that he spread on me, that was enough to make me understand what was going on. When you're 100% ignorant, you have nothing to help you. Just your hunches, which you can't really prove.
Posted: 02 Sep 2015 05:58 AM PDT Though you may say, it is tough, from my school days, I have been scoring high marks in the "fill-in-the-gap" competition. You should know how to deal with such issues firmly, efficiently and effectively. At the same time, one should be very careful and not commit even a small spelling mistake like "tis"
