Question: Is live theater becoming extinct? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 09:47 PM PDT Utter rot. Ticket sales have never been higher. Uneducated people might wish to watch TV on their phones, but people who go to the theatre know what they're missing. Interestingly, cinema ticket sales have plummeted. Keep watching your phone, but don't feed us your ignorant opinions.

Question: Moving to Cali in a few years? Any tips? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 08:54 PM PDT You don't mention what training you've had already. Unless you've had many years of high-level training you're going to be at the bottom of a very large pile when agents consider applications. A few years at a really good acting school or university is what you need - not those rather random classes you mention. Beginner classes are just a basic introduction to acting. Most kids have done that by the time they're 10 years old. Improv isn't necessary at all. Commercial, on camera audition and scene study are just little extras - not real acting training. You need to go through beginners, intermediate and then really advanced training - ideally at university level. Also, you need a really fantastic resume, showing loads of stage and film experience, with you taking leading roles - not 'guest star' roles. You'd need a really professional showreel, with clips from real films you've been in. And what on earth does 'rampid' mean? There's no such word. You seem to imagine that an acting career is going to be fairly straightforward. It's not. Every role could be your last. Every job is temporary. Make sure you're qualified for a good 'day-job' which you're going to have to work permanently, alongside acting. Most actors have an ordinary job which they work very long hours their entire lives, just to afford a place to sleep and food.
Question: What is an acting showcase and how do i get in one? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 08:18 PM PDT Student films do count - if they're really good and you took a significant role. They give you experience at acting to camera. But they usually used graduate actors - really good, well-trained ones. They have no use for beginners. A showcase is usually a performance put on by a major drama school, to show off their best students, and to which good agents are invited. If they are really impressed with any of the students, they might offer to represent them.
