Question: Would parents still love their kids if they weren't their kids, but someone else's? eg. a neighbour's?

There are at least 7 different kinds of love. Infatuation (Body), Romantic (body+mind) Storge/friendship (Mind), Intimate (Mind+Spirit), Agape (Spirit), Philia/Family/Obligated (Spirit+Body), and Dedicated (Mind+Body+Spirit). A parents feeling of love come from the instinct (sexual and self preservation) and is experienced on the daily via a conscious connection, making a parents love almost unconditional. Without the initial instinct to spur, love would be solely a spiritual connection without the connection support of any other body. In short... ...No.

Question: What is the purpose of (your life) and life, in general, is???

To know the absolute truth is the main purpose of our life. In order to achieve this one should learn a lot and practice. Practice only makes a man perfect. The second main purpose is to achieve perfection in all fields of our activity.

Don't be lazy. Keep your mind always busy with some or the other right pursuits and earn lot of merits and virtues.

Question: Where does the road less traveled lead to?

Quote: "Metaphorically speaking, someone who takes 'the road less traveled' is acting independently, freeing themselves from the conformity of others (who choose to take 'the road more often traveled'), generally making their own choices, and perhaps leaving a new trail that will become the road more often traveled (until, of course, someone takes the road less traveled from there, and happens upon something even better than the first improvement; in that way, the cycle always repeats itself, and Wikipedia is continually made better).

The phrase itself is a famous few lines extracted from "The Road Not Taken" by poet Robert Frost:"

Question: Philosophy of mind/thought: What methods can be perceived in the way geniuses think and behave?

I don't think it would be possible to come up with discrete things peculiar to "geniuses"....Or even a good definition of that word.

Some folks we think of as geniuses were often gifted with sudden inspirations and insights, supposedly "out of the blue". Others, like Edison, worked doggedly on given problems, trying dozens or hundreds of possible solutions.

Some seem to produce things effortlessly, some as the result of hard study and work. "Genius is 10 percent inspiration and 90% perspiration"....

Question: Is evil formed from weakness?

Posted: 03 Sep 2015 05:18 AM PDT

Yes. You are absolutely right. To think weak is bad. Always feel that you are very strong.

Evil spirit always searches for a nice place to settle peacefully and happily. It will not go to busy people who adopt right pursuits. It only catches hold of lazy, lethargic, dull, and ignorant people, who are adamant and rigid in their bad attitude. Such people do not have any noble vision and they don't want to listen to the good words of advice from elders and knowledgeable people.

Strength is life, weakness is death. Strength is felicity, life eternal, immortal. Weakness is constant strain and misery; weakness is death. - Swami Vivekanandaji.

Question: Are people naturally good or evil?

Posted: 03 Sep 2015 05:16 AM PDT

"Good and Evil" are just value judgements on actions. Humans are capable of both by reason of human nature. We are what we were. We are the product of millions of years of evolution and we evolved many characteristics that helped us survive. Now, as civlized creatures, some of these characteristics that served our ancestors well may not tend to anymore.

Aquisitiveness can lead to greed and exploitation. Fear of the other can lead to prejudice and racism. Aggressiveness and sudden violence, so necessary to our ancestor's survival...can lead to domestic abuse, assaults, and murder...
And so on.
