Title: War, Nuclear War

Beautiful, bright sky horizons as far as the eye can see,
The yellow bright sun shinning down on me.

I wake up one morning and turn on the TV screen,
To see a President ruthless and mean.

Success and fortune is he's game,
For his disclosure I will not share his name.

He speaks of Wealth, Riches and Fortune for USA,
At what cost will we have this gain I say.

I turn my head to look out my window screen,
I see violence, hate and people saying mean things.

I suddenly see a special report on CNN,
Hearing them say be warned the sirens are about to begin.

I stand in shock and awe gasping for breath,
Hearing the President say there may be some deaths.

I see a mushroom cloud in the distance,
I hear him say prepare for war we are the resistance.

I hear an anchor say clean out the, malls, restaurants and stores,
The President has declared USA Nuclear War.

Question: What do you think of my poem, "Black Tears?" It's about nuclear war?

Alien humanity,
Don't cry for me
Alien humanity
Do cry for we

See, see, be
Black tears
Bring cancer's immortality
From heaven

We saw such ashes
And human attachments
With filth in our lashes
Call it entrapment
The effects all lasted

See, see, be
Black tears
Bring cancer's immortality
From heaven

Alien humanity,
Don't cry for me
Alien humanity
Do cry for we

See, see, be
Black tears
Bring cancer's immorality
From heaven

Don't drink black tears
They come from mirrors
You are the  guilty fears
Voices all hear and I die

Question: Is this a good Bio Poem that I have to present in front of the whole class and answer their questions?

Hades

Who is frightening, stern, and cold as ice
Who is the brother of Zeus and Poseidon
Who is a resident of the underworld
Who needs his helper Charos, the angel of the dead, who transfers the souls of people into the underworld
Who loves his wife, Persephone, and anyone whose deeds result in people dying
Who gives the souls of the dead a place to dwell after life
Who fears Zeus
Who would like to see an increase in the number of souls in his kingdom
Who feels powerful
Who shares the universe with his brothers
Who is the ruler of the dead
"God of Death"

I don't care if it's entertaining, I just want to know if it makes sense so that I don't get laughed at or asked questions I can't answer.

Question: Is there any thng in the poem because i could not stop for death to suggest that it is written by woman?

Posted: 23 Nov 2016 07:41 AM PST

No, there isn't. There are some things that suggest that the SPEAKER of the poem (the narrator, the "I" character) is a woman, because the speaker refers to her "gown" and her "tippet", which are women's garments. But that tells us nothing about the sex or gender of the AUTHOR of the poem. The poem could have been written by a male poet who made up a fictional female character to be the speaker of the poem.

Of course, we know that the poem was, in fact, written by a woman, Emily Dickinson, but we can't determine that solely from the contents of the poem itself.

Question: A poem about caveman and modern day people?

Still men have caves when courting fails,
The caves that Socrates warned us about,
Where images on walls become our jails
Society contrives so not a soul gets out.

They want us trapped inside their cave
And like cavemen we're anxiously afraid,
Of Russian shadows keeping you their slave,
So military industry by billions paid.

When courting caves don't go away
You're held by fear by N.S.A.
