Posted: 16 Nov 2016 04:22 PM PST Hi Chloe. I want to clear some things up for you - but understand this explanation does not mean that you're not pretty or you can't act. You did NOT have a Disney audition. A company hired Phill Lewis (the actor to play Mr. Mosbly) as a marketing tool to get people to "audition" so they can try to sell them something. Anyone willing to pay the money they asked would be accepted. You don't pay anything for real auditions. Phill Lewis or any other actor you see on Disney cannot get you a job of Disney. That's not how the industry works. (See http://bizparentz.org/thebizness/disneya... ). If you're interested in acting, give it a try. Take an acting class or two. Audition for a school play or community theater production. Join drama club and compete in forensic speech/drama contests. Maybe get involved in a summer theater camp. It's possible to do some acting and still play basketball too. Acting and theater can be a fun, creative outlet. You can make friends, learn life skills and the like. So just focus on giving it a try for now. Understand that actors are not just "discovered". Companies like the one you and your mom went to a couple of years ago take advantage of people who don't understand that. So for now just have fun learning and growing as an actor and performer without having to worry about making money at it. Good luck

Question: Is there a back door to well-known fame? Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:14 PM PST First – wanting fame is the worst possible reason for getting into acting. Real actors – people who have talent, intelligence and the right personalities to become professionals – aren't even slightly interested in being famous. Secondly - becoming a famous director or producers is far more difficult than becoming an actor. Think about it. One movie - maybe 50 actors - how many directors? Usually one or two. To be honest, looking at your other questions, you don't have what it takes to be an actor. What you want is fame - recognition. Wanting to become famous and 'known' - that almost always means that you have low self-esteem, little confidence and the need for constant approval. You should really deal with those issues, and learn to love yourself as you are, and become mature enough to realise how childish it is to desire fame.
Question: Are my chances of becoming a well-known actor so low that I should just give up? Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:01 PM PST You don't need to be famous or well-known to entertain people. You can do that locally with community theater or doing your own projects - create your own webseries, short film or develop a stand-up routine. If you're good maybe you can build a following. I doesn't have to be huge following - but it means you can entertain people. I know you think you're saying the right things but there are two deeper things to consider: 1. If entertaining people really is your goal - don't give up. But if it matters to you that people that a lot of people recognize you and appreciate you, then acting may not be for you. If it's more about you feeling appreciated and recognized because you entertain people rather then feeling good just being able to entertain people, acting may not be for you. For most people, wanting fame is not about wanting money. It's about feeling validated because people recognize you. It's wanting that attention so you feel special and in a way superior to everyone else because you stand out. It's about defining success by what other people think about you. And that's the problem. That's just a bad way to approach life. Your chances of becoming famous are so small - and staying famous is harder. Fame is fleeting (there are a ton of has-beens out there). So wanting fame - even if it's not for money - is a bad reason to do anything. 2. It's show BUSINESS. People are in it to make money - so that you don't care if you make money or not is not good business. It's good you don't want to be an actor to make a ton of money (because you probably won't). But attempting a professional acting career is like running a business where you are the product to be marketed and sold. If you don't think the work you can do is worth anything - no one else is going to think the work you do is worth anythIng either. You do need to be concerned with money and the business end of things if you want a professional career. So what it boils down to is if you want/need/are driven to have fame, attention even if it's not for money, don't go into acting. You'll be disappointed. If you want/need/are driven to entertain people - entertain people! Don't give up. Like I said you don't have to be famous to do that. You don't even have to attempt a professional career.
