| Question: Has anybody's ancestors fought in World War I? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 09:12 AM PST My father's father was a US Marine stationed on a combat ship running convoy escort duty in the North Atlantic during WWI. Dad was a couple of year too young to fight in WWII. By luck he was not drafted to go to Korea. I was too young to go to Nam so I enlisted during a peaceful part of the Cold War. Peaceful unless you were in Iran during their revolution that happened shortly after I enlisted or you were in Afghanistan when the Soviets invaded that happened near the end of my hitch. |
