These two groups could not agree to a deal that would create a single country for all of them so the British had to create a Muslim state which was Pakistan and a Hindu state which was India. The British were also responsible for creating the border and they usually based this on what religion the majority of the people in a certain territory were. If the majority was Muslim then it would most likely go to Pakistan and the same with Hindus and India.<p>The regions where the population was about even tended to be very violent because they wanted
