| Question: Want to try acting, don't want to be made fun of? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 01:58 PM PST I would say this. It wouldn't be too late. But that's besides the point. If you take theatre, you'll probably mainly be doing it with girls. that's just how theatre class is. This is not a bad thing. People can laugh. But you won't hear them through all of the girls you'll be lifting, spinning around and pretending to woo. If I was to give you one macho quality to defend yourself with. It's that. Girls. However. That's not the real reason you do it. It's really the best thing. Learn to love it. It is a notoriously hard career path though. So if you want to actually go into it as a career. Prepare yourself for a bumpy ride. |
| Question: How can I get the lead in the middle school musical? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 12:27 PM PST Okay so I'm not an expert on this but here are my theatre friends advice "to succeed in life and all things theatre" Get to know your role, it seems you've already done that well so good! Keep trying though, but don't get obsessed! Do not PRECAST YOUR SELF! If you want a role, Shoot for it, but any role is a good role! Choose a song that relates to the character, but don't use something overdone. Nobody wants to hear Frozen all day, or really most things from Disney movies. If you end up getting casted as someone else. MAKE THE BEST OF IT! Be the best darn whatever you can be! Sing your heart out! This has to do with the choosing a song aswell. Choose one you know you can do and love doing it. Look into vocal exercises. I know, I know, nobody really likes those, trust me I was told I needed them. Look some up on YouTube and try those, have someone help you. Finally enjoy yourself, I hope this helps! And I will be cheering you on! |
