| Posted: 29 Dec 2015 03:57 AM PST Hi there!, I am 21 years old, (on new year's eve I will become 22). Studying architecture in university and work in the same field too. (I'm a 3d Visualizer for both interior and architectural spaces) For nearly 4 years!. My work experience extends my education years (before this job i have worked in various fields of many types since the age of 15). I work from 8:30 Am till 6:30pm then go home to do freelance jobs and university projects (I pay for my own education). Have good hobbies of reading books, love playing the guitar but at an amateur level have knowledge about hacking and how computers work, Gaming and photography. Always updated with the latest news of politics, computers, science and much more.... I aim to read a minimum of 5-10 articles per day and can get into a conversation about nearly any topic, love making friends and meeting new people!, if change doesn't take place on a daily basis in my life I get into a depression. But... lately i have been having social problems... my friends which i always spend time with they make me angry for many different reasons and by the day I feel like they are not the people that you can talk about real deal stuff (I don't want to sit and discuss politics like 60 year old do YET... you know what I mean) they aren't pro active at all. Don't share an interest in music art etc. etc. and they try to take the advantage on you asap they can!. Through books and education i have been able to teach myself to be political and if I ditch those guys the whole world around me (Ex: people from university, work.....) all of them are the same people with too little knowledge about anything and extremely egoistic) it's also the reason I haven't had a relationship for 2 years now since ATM relationships are only for the sake of advertising on social media about "look at my girl isn't she hot?" "Or look at my boyfriend's Ferrari" and I tried but couldn't even adopt 5% of that shitty life style a lifestyle where it's about what you have and what you own instead of what you know and what can you do!... the question is that am i living life wrong? Should I move? I've been researching about this and haven't found the answer to any of my questions!... dear reader I ask of a professionals help or someone who has experienced the same problem... just point out the errors and I'm a type of person where I accept my mistakes and do put effort in changing them. Thank you very much in advance.

| Question: What are the legacy of Greece-Roman civilization? Posted: 29 Dec 2015 01:24 AM PST Very little. Although of course the descendants of the Latin language are spoken throughout parts of the Mediterranean, the major language of Western civilisation, English, is largely a Germanic language. The pagan religion of Classical civilisation has vanished, as his is currency, its political system, its arts (sculpture was a major component of Greek and Roman art, not so much in the West), the system of government is vastly different (we have mass democracies, Rome and Greece were either Empires, slave Republics or aristocracies)... Even looking at classical philosophy it is totally different, the schools of stoicism which dominated late Greece were vastly different to our materialistic and Christian schools of thought. Classical civilisation essentially ended upon the end of the Western Roman Empire and the rise of Justinian I in the East, although it was pretty much dead before that (especially when Christianity destroyed the old Pagan religion of Rome and Greece, and Christianity essentially led to the moral destruction of Roman society). Christianity originated as a rural Arab/Semite religion, and was taken by St Paul into Rome, not the countryside, where it morphed into an urban Western European religion. In fact very little of Classical civilisation exists, except of course a few ruined buildings, art pieces and manuscripts. Perhaps Paul's version of Christianity is one of the only lasting influences, but it is important to understand that classical culture came before Christianity and was long dead by the time the Romans legalized Christianity and eventually adopted it as the imperial religion. Classical and Western civilisations are completely different and wholly unique. One major difference in soul is this; Greek historians had no regard for the deep past, their history writing constituted of a recollection of events which occurred in the life-time of the historian (Herodotus), whereas the great works of history of the Western peoples is concerned with great epics of battles and kings that occurred hundreds of years before the birth of the historian. Also the Greeks had little regard for time, whereas we in the West and in Ancient Egypt do have/did. Western civilisation is not based upon classical culture. It is based upon Western Christianity and the Germanic and Celtic peoples (Franks, Saxons, Lombards ect...) |
