| Question: Ancient Roman hairstyles? Posted: 31 Dec 2015 06:33 AM PST Why are ancient Romans depicted with pageboy haircuts both in plays, movies and statues? It seems everybody regardless of age has the hair style of Justin Bieber. Must have been some kind of idealized wish even in those days. |
| Posted: 31 Dec 2015 04:28 AM PST The curriculum varies widely across the US as most public school boards set up their curriculum independently. This means that different states teach different things and different cities and towns within any given state might learn different things as well. Students in the Northeast learn some Dutch history at school. New York was formerly known as New Amsterdam and historical figures such as Peter Stuyvesant and Peter Minuit are covered in history lessons in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Some other aspects of Dutch history that are covered here and there are the Dutch East India Company, the history of the "Pilgrims" in Leiden, Holland prior to their voyage to found Plymouth, Abel Tasman's voyages, the Dutch colonization of the "ABC" islands in the Caribbean (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) as well as Dutch colonization of Indonesia. The Anglo-Dutch Wars are often covered as well as is the history of the occupied Netherlands during the Second World War. Many Dutch explorers, military officers and commanders, scientists, artists and other notable figures are covered as well.

| Question: Why only Germany and Japan are considered to be evil in the war? Posted: 31 Dec 2015 03:58 AM PST Who said that? And, presumably, you meant WWII. Perhaps if you knew anything, you would comprehend why they were considered evil. But I do not think they had a monopoly on the term. |
