| Question: Is becoming an ACTOR/ACTRESS that easy in the USA? Posted: 12 Nov 2014 06:02 PM PST You can call yourself an actor/actress. To be employable you need he correct working visas as well as extensive formal training and experience, a great resume, head shots and showreel/voice reel, excellent networking skills and good industry knowledge. Most work comes through agents and as this is one of the most popular kinds of work in the world, they can pick and choose from thousands of people who have all of the above. As their income depends on your ability to secure work at audition, they only choose "marketable" actors. Even people who are talented, fully trained and experienced and who are American citizens must compete well alongside thousands of aspiring actors. Research is very important. Best of luck. |
| Question: What is a good female part in Annie, the Musical? Posted: 12 Nov 2014 05:17 PM PST I was Molly in my school play of Annie years ago (in the late 90s) as well as some other parts in the play (such as the maids). Was even in the newspaper for that play and 2 other plays. I like singing as a group, not as a solo (dont like all that attention on me). So that is why I go for parts that dont require solo parts. I was in Wizard of Oz, Secret Garden, Annie, Music Man and Green Eggs and ham. I had more than one part in each of them. Dont get the script online. Although most of the plays are based on the originals, schools tend to shorten them by taking out some things and changing some other things. If you want to see what the characters are, wikipedia would be a good one. Look up the original Annie, not the newest ones. The original film one is from 1982. The original broadway one is from 1977. In the broadway info, there is a section called Annie Jr. That is the version that most schools use because it is shortened for that purpose. So that may be the one your school uses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annie_%2819... |
