Posted: 05 Nov 2014 08:47 PM PST I need to find a 7-8 minute long HDA speech scene for a boy and a girl. The boy isn't good at acting? Hello, I'm a Junior in high school and I'm on the speech team in hda category. Myself and my female partner need to find a humorous duet piece which is funny and the male role is easy to play. We don't want to do any kissing scenes. We gave been looking for a couple weeks now and we can't find anything we like. Is there any piece out there that would work? And advice would help.
Question: Sports Awards Night Speech? Posted: 05 Nov 2014 08:09 PM PST This friday there is a cross country awards night banquet to mark the end of the season, and seniors are supposed to give a speech about cross country and the coaches to "say goodbye" and such. I wrote one and tried to make it a bit humorous but also heart-felt, but I'm nervous about it. Can you read it and give me feedback? Is it actually even a little humorous, or just plain stupid? Thanks! (Photo attached)
Question: R&H Cinderella Godmother audition? Posted: 05 Nov 2014 08:04 PM PST R&H Cinderella Godmother audition? I'm trying out for the Godmother in our school's G2K Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and I need a good 30 sec - 1 min monologue that maybe shows my character.
Question: Romeo and Juliet, love at first sight? Posted: 05 Nov 2014 07:42 PM PST I don't think it's possible to truly love someone at first sight, because you could see the most handsom guy in the world, but he may have the worst personality. I could never love someone who was self-centered, greedy, or inconsiderate, or just plain rude. Without actually knowing the person, it is impossible to fal in love with them truly, some people might think there in love with someone of there cute, but that's just puppy love usually. Seeing someone for the first time, and thinking they're cute may lead up to true love, because it could motivate you to go and talk to them and find that you do truly love each other, but on its own, no, love at first sight cannot happen.
Question: How to be cast as Madame Thenardier? Posted: 05 Nov 2014 05:50 PM PST how to be cast as Madame Thenardier? This summer, my school district is putting on the play Les Miserables. Now, I'm not an extraordinary singer or actress, but I want to be her more than life itself, & I have months until try outs. What advice can you give me about anything relative to this? Thanks! (:
