| Question: How do I tell my mom that I don't want to do dance? Posted: 19 Aug 2015 09:06 PM PDT As you don't want to become a dancer as a career ( mom should be grateful for that) tell her you would like to take up volleyball instead. Competition dance is a dead end as it is a bubble unto itself. It doesn't lead to dance careers and competition stops in most cases at the end of high school anyway. Volleyball may be useful in getting you a scholarship in terms of higher education if you end up being good at it. Regarding being sorry you stopped, you can always take adult classes later or even alongside of volleyball now. Adult or teen/adult classes usually start at your current age but not in a competition environment. Truth is those adult classes will more likely teach you better form as they are not about learning dance tricks. Of course that would depend on the level of teaching offered at that school . Often professional ballet company schools have open adult classes and then you know he training along with the facility will be good. They often offer more than just ballet classes too for adults on an open level that are not part of their preprofessional school training. You can always go back to recreational dance at any age or even find an "open" class now that is not competition dance where you don't need to make such a big commitment of your time and parent's money. Open classes are generally teen/adult drop in classes with no recital. |

Posted: 19 Aug 2015 07:41 PM PDT I Like to Rock by April Wine, It's Only Rock and Roll - The Rolling Stones, It - Genesis (which has a recurring chorus of "It's only rock and roll, but I like IT"), Rock and Roll Music - Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, or many other bands did covers of this as well. Rock and Roll High School - The Ramones. Rock and Roll ain't noise pollution - AC/DC.. Rock you like a Hurricane - Scorpions. Rock the Casbah - The Clash, Rock Lobster - B 52's. The best one of all of these is Genesis - "It" - exremely overlooked Gem! |
