Question: A check has a birthname (same as ID) and a stage name next to it in parenthesis. Can you cross out the professional name and still cash it?

This is not a "Arts & Humanities" question

In some jurisdictions, a professional must carry two separate bank accounts: one for his professional career, one for his private life. If a cheque carries his professional name, then the revenue agency in that jurisdiction is allowed to treat this cheque as a revenue from his professional work (if that makes a difference in his accounting).

Cashing such a cheque in his personnal account COULD** be deemed to be an attempt at fraud.

---

**COULD: because it is not automatic.
And there are many professionals who set up their accounts (and their tax profile) in such a way as it makes no difference where the revenue comes from, they pay taxes on the entire amount. In such cases, it does not care.

---

If there are crossed out information on a cheque, it is possible that the bank refuses it, unless they get a satisfactory explanation ("satisfactory" according to THEM, not to your friend).

Question: Just received this image, but I can't see what it's actually a image of. Can you help me out?
