Question: Is this a possible Native American owned slave family?

I've taken an interest in Native American {especially Saponi] genealogy and some of my cousins have possible ancestors owned by them. One of them has actually has confirmed Saponi ancestry. The rest of us might have ancestors owned by them- I don't think we're directly descended from them.

There's one person in our family tree named Pleasant Johnson b. 1820 in Tennessee. He has two children- one was born in 1859 Tennessee, and one born in 1866 in Kentucky. Which means that post-emancipation, Pleasant moved away from his Tennessee slaveowner {he was probably enslaved}, migrated to Kentucky and then further on to Ohio- where we are today.

Is it possible this man and his family was owned by a Saponi or another Native American slaveholder? What sites would anyone recommend for finding information on this subject?

Question: Are Navajo and Apache Tribes Related?
