I'd start with bass. If you're that unsure, flip a coin and see what happens. I started on some really crappy guitars back in the early 70's, which believe me there was a lot of them if you didn't have the money to afford the big name brands, Today is another matter, as its hard to find a crappy guitar unless your on the serious budget, Name brand is unimportant, just find one for now that you like, Learn to play it and you'll eventually develop a preference further down this long road, Your first one will be just a memory, Kinda like X wife's. only real difference is you only spent $200 on your first guitar, the X you may want to add a few zeros to that</span></p>
