What memorials have we created in memmory of JFK?

John F Kennedy had done many things for his beloved country (The U.S.A) they were
-Created the Peace Corps
--Nuclear Test Ban Treaty
--Supported racial integration and Civil Rights; proposed what would become the Civil Rights Act of 1964
--Created Project Apollo, which led to the first man landing on the moon six years after JFK's death
--Created the President's Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity which sought to end discrimination in government and covert discrimination among government contract

Putin threateneing nuclear war over the Ukraine
Possible global ebola pandemic
Ongoing multisided civil war in Syria
Hong Kong pro democracy demonstrations

and all still to be played out in full...

Question: Why was the broadcasting in uk established as a public service monopoly and why did this monopoly survive for so long?

Because the government owns the airwaves, and they also were willing to put up the enormous amount of capital needed to create and maintain it.
