I'm freaking out about starting college?

I'm starting Berklee college of music (in January/Spring Semester) and I'm stressed. I want to test out of some classes and I am studying subjects on my own so I can test out of them/receive course credit when I start college. Also, my principal instrument is piano, but I haven't been practicing a lot at all, mostly because i'm so busy/stressed by all of the stuff i'm studying and trying to get together. I am also looking for ways to earn money. I'm not even in college yet and I already feel overwhelmed. HELP?!

Question: Can a 27 scale baritone guitar use standard E to e tuning with 9 or 10 guage strings?

Hey everyone! I have been looking to get a new guitar soon and have discovered the Fender Blacktop Baritone, It looks pretty sweet and I am tempted to get it but am unsure whether I am well off playing it since I usually use a string gauge of 9, so I can bend easily playing blues. I do want to experiment with the B to b tuning on it but I would also like to play standard E to e tuning using strings to my preference. Is this possible?? Thanks! :)

Update : I forgot to add that it's a Fender Blacktop Baritone Telecaster not just a Blacktop Baritone mahbad Lol

Question: Are bands of America competitions basically just a name game?

Are bands of America competitions basically just a name game?

Do you think that bands of America is biased in competitions like super regionals and grand nationals? I feel like because they're broken arrow, Carmel, Marion catholic, or Avon, they just get points for being that school. My band has beaten Marion catholic in prelims, but they came back in finals to beat us. Could this be because of who they are? I feel like the judges don't recognize my band as much because it's relativily new. Less than four years, while these big name bands have been doing it for multiple years now.

Question: To the people who's first instrument was the bass guitar:?

When I was a beginner to trying to play Rock 'n Roll, I tried it, then retreated to a six-string guitar, so there. It's pretty useless as a solo instrument, so that gets you into a band - which is not a necessarily fun place for a total beginner.
Better to start with that basic guitar, not a bass, when you know 'zip. Meanwhile, please loose the "easy" bit (!), because if that's a priority, you won't learn much of anything. Do it, and work at it, because you really want it or love it, or fail.
