Where can I find a list of tuition free music schools/conservatories in Europe?

I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some names. I have looked everywhere and I can't find any conservatories that offer free education. I don't know if this means there are none or what, but I would like to know.

Question: What is the best instrument to march with after playing bassoon?

Posted: 11 Oct 2014 08:32 PM PDT

I play bassoon in 8th grade band, but I went to 8th grade night at high school ( The 8th graders go to a football game and participate in it to see what marching band is like), and i know i can't march with a bassoon, and I don't know what to play in marching band. The low brass guys were SO excepting! Immediately, they were saying how cool the bassoon is, how much i should join their section, yada yada, but my father says low brass is for boys! I think that's unreasonable, because there was one other girl, but my father says that she was only there because she was big, but thats completely irrational because he isn't considering the fact that my gender and size doesn't matter, what matters is what is beneficial for me to play, and the boys were skinny too...... *sigh*. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!! HIGHSCOOL IS GONNA BE HARD. Thank you for reading all of that.

P.S I don't want to be a percussionist, so that ones out, and i think saxaphone is too basic.

Question: I got a acoustic guitar recently, problem is, even the slightest touch on the strings will make it mess up. Help?

We have to assume that this is your first guitar, and you have had no lessons. If that's true, you will have basically no ability to make music on it right now, which can be a surprise if you expected more so quickly. Get some local help.

Question: Good guitars?

Most acoustics are made with a spruce(wood) top, the 'face' piece with the hole and holds the strings in. Spruce tends to get a bright and crisp tone. Less common for a steel string acoustic are cedar tops which give a deeper bass lifting tone(usually). Look for a cedar top steel string acoustic(or classical/nylon string guitar if you want that). You can usually tell by the oranger colour of the wood compared to the whitish spruce.

Also try all mahogany body guitars which give a deeper tone as well: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/f...

Neither of the guitars I've shown are in the $100 range I just realized and unfortunately you are going to have a very difficult time finding anything good, even if you were going with a regular spruce, with that budget.
