| Question: Is it moral and right to focus on making money when billions of people are suffering? Posted: 24 Oct 2014 07:12 AM PDT It depends on if you're trying to keep your morals in line with God's teachings in The Bible or not. People have all kinds of moral justifications but if you're trying to do what's right in the eyes of God then they'll be entirely different. 1 Timothy 6:9 and 10 says: "But those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge men into destruction and ruin. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains." Having money is not wrong but having when you make it your DETERMINATION (of focus) that's when we become destructive. And that scripture is just talking about what could happen to us, imagine how it would effect those around us. The bible tells us to love ALL people and if we live life in a way that hurts so many people then that wouldn't be morally correct, now would it? Acts 20:35 says: "...There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving..." So if we have the means to help people with our money then we should. But NEVER should our life's sole purpose be to make money with or without the extent of the suffering of people. |
| Question: What do you consider to be your most significant professional accomplishment? Posted: 24 Oct 2014 07:04 AM PDT Being a wife and stay at home mom of two small children. I run the entire household including the finances. I also have a finance degree. I am making our money work for us. That's a huge accomplishment. |
