I have an idea for a story.
you have nearly unlimited wealth and power and your son or daughter was dying of an illness, a poor and very hard working person who has been treated like crap by practically everyone ( even you) happens to have the cure. He or she wants everything you have ( and then some) would you give it to them?

Question: Is it necessary always to know the trust a bout things,or it'sno necessary know every thing even about our own way and own life?

Question: If white paint is white and paper is white, then is paper white paint?

Posted: 17 Oct 2014 08:12 AM PDT

Obviously not.
But if A = C and B = C, the mathemaatical answer appears to be that A, B, and C are the same.

Why must A, B, and C be the same? Is it because the word "equal" is used? Or do the different names given imply that they are not the same and merely share a specific property?

BQ: If the A=B thing is an incorrect comparison, what would be a better variable system to describe how paper and paint, though white, are not the same thing?

Question: What is the difference between Neoplatonism and Platonism?

Posted: 17 Oct 2014 07:44 AM PDT

I understand the other sections do not get a lot of traffic, so will try to answer. If I recall correctly, Platonism is a strict idealism, i.e., the physical world is not real. The physical world is not as it appears. Only the realm of Forms is real. In Neo-platonism, the physical world exists but is not as it would seem, the ideal, the form of objects is the essence and true nature of the thing. In Platonism the form and the physical are separate entities, the body (form) and the shadow (physical). In Neoplatonism, physical existence and ideal essence are together in the thing. The form and the object overlap with one another.

This is from memory of a course in ancient philosophy.

Question: Do you agree or disagree?

I can agree to disagree. I live by my own principals and detour from the negative energy of others - for the sake of peace. :D
