Does anyone know what "also found in" means underneath the genetic results in the Ancestry.com DNA test results?

I am primarily english and irish but the results also said "also found in: Italy, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Switzerland, Netherlands, Estonia, Slovenia. Like WTF????

Surnames do not have an ancestry. The people surname do. They weren't started originally to identify a person as a member of a family but just to better identify people on records

The name you show probably the spelling has been changed to fit the original pronunciation in English.

The only way to know where your grandmother's people came from is to trace her ancestry using documents/records.
