Posted: 18 Sep 2016 09:04 PM PDT Not even 'Butch' Cassidy or Neal Cassady? The Grateful Dead wrote a song about Neal and he was a main character in Kerouac's 'On The Road'. I once had a cat named Cassidy. It's a good Irish name. Wear it with pride.

Question: Are you interested in genealogy? Posted: 18 Sep 2016 01:11 AM PDT A person who does genealogy seriously will not start with websites at all. Also when using websites distinguish between records and subscriber submitted family trees which you should personally verify with records before accepting as fact. Even when you see the absolute same information on the same people from tons of subscribers don't accept as accurate without verifying as the websites do not hire people to verify what their subscribers submit as it would be far too costly. Too many people copy without verifying is why you see the absolute same information on the same people from many different subscribers. I view any website that only has family trees as a trash website. You get as much information from living family as possible. Do you have your own birth certificate? It has the names of both of your parents including our mother's maiden name. How about your parents and grandparents? Do they have theirs? Also death certificates usually have the names of both parents of the deceased including mother's maiden name. You get back to the time before births and deaths were recorded and ten there are church records like for baptisms, confirmation, marriage and deaths. See some of your family might have some of those records on your ancestors. Maybe they have some old family bibles, old family photos, wills, deeds and other records. Do some preliminary ground work before going to the internet and use the internet only as a tool. I believe the two best sites for the amount of records they have online are FamilySearch.org which is entirely free and Ancestry.Com which many public libraries have a subscription to you can use for free. Still don't take as fact what you see in their subscriber submitted family trees until verified with actual records. Also Ancestry.Com's ads and promotions are misleading but it still has a lot of records. Not all records are online though.
Posted: 17 Sep 2016 09:05 PM PDT Genealogy is about ancestry and family history. So no genealogy site will have much or any information on living people. There are directory and credit reporting sites which have a small part of the information you are seeking. Most of them charge high fees for anything more than address and phone number (the stuff that used to be in telephone books). They are not organized by family, so you have to look up every individual by name. No site will have a comprehensive listing of properties, but you may find a few mentions on local tax rolls which are published haphazardly by some local taxing districts. Your question seems to suggest a malicious intent since by far the easiest way to get this information is by asking the people involved. If you are determined to gather the information by hook or by crook, start with a good search engine like Google because this information will be scattered over dozens or perhaps hundreds of sites, and much of it will not be available online at all.
