| Posted: 29 Sep 2016 08:02 AM PDT In law your adopted family, although your ancestors are your biological family........ so maybe you have the best of both worlds and two lots of family to research....start with your legal family and learn how to research and prove, once you are a compedant researcher then try to start researching your bio family, which will mean getting your adoption file which depending on where in the world you live can be very easy or very difficult. My mum has a cousin who was adopted and I never researched her ancestry until one day a couple of years ago I decided to try, so after speaking to her and asking if it was OK, she gave me her adoption file she had applied for some years earlier............. it was great to be able to research and I found out so much for her and she now has decided to continue and research further |
