| Question: Actors, what is a good alternative to the "Tuna Fish" monologue? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:56 PM PDT I need a comedic or semi-comedic monologue for a class. I discovered the famous "Tuna Fish" monologue from a show called "Laughing Wild" and fell in love. Its hilarious. I then discovered how grossly overused it is. Does anyone know of any similar monologues that are neurotic/quirky in nature? Any help greatly appreciated... |

| Question: Why do some think personal values don t matter on stage? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 01:13 PM PDT I do not know much of theater so here is my guess- (since I do play many role playing games, I am based on what I noticed in dungeons and dragons...HAHAHA) When you think of personal values, you tend to miss out on the focus and goal of the character often and mix that characters personal specific persona into basically yours... Then, all of the sudden you are not portraying the person that you suppose to portray.. but, rather you are portraying someone that you want to be. Hence, they personal values / morals/ philosophical thoughts are not important on the stage.. What matter is that what is that character is thinking and his/her thought processes, and his/her perspective. In many times, acting and theater seems to be really hard to portray the characters personality unlike books, because you need to show based on face expression and body language... and these personal values that you have will interfere into the acting. |
