| Posted: 27 Sep 2016 05:57 PM PDT The hardest part of transitioning to bass is realizing it is a different instrument. Technically you won't have any trouble as, obviously, you are playing the same notes, using the same basic approach, etc. But, you need to learn how to fit in with the other instruments, especially the Kick drum and the rythm guitar if the band has one. Still, you should be able to pick it up relatively easily. I had a rough couple months when I switched from guitar to bass, but after a while it became second nature. I would bet most of the bass players on this forum started off playing guitar first.

| Posted: 27 Sep 2016 11:34 AM PDT Have you ever heard an elderly parrot singing - or screeching? I have. I had a lovely parrot who live to the ripe old age of 80, and she loved to sing, talk and shout. But I do have to admit that the sound was not altogether pleasing to the ear. As for the 'angina' - when people are having difficulty breathing and their chests are hurting them badly, they too make rather unpleasant sounds. The notion of both maladies combined would make for an ... interesting vocal quality. EDIT |

| Question: Fender FM 212r squealing when I stop playing. Why? How do i stop it? Posted: 27 Sep 2016 12:22 AM PDT I have no idea what music you are trying to play, but if you are tryng to play Metal on that amp, you are screwing the pooch! Fender amps of any kind are not an amp to play heavy rock or metal. I have played Fender Strats for 40 yrs, but I've never met a Fender Amp that I like for the music I like to play. If you have EMG's that will just make it worse. One thing you might try is to increase gain and lower the volume. I'm looking at the manual as I type this. another thing may be that you think that the 1 and 2 inputs go to the two setting sections.. INPUT - Plug your guitar in here. INPUT 1 is normal sensitivity for most guitars, INPUT 2 is lower sensitivity for guitars with high output (active) pickups. Try plugging into the input 1 and then in input 2 and use the same settings to see how far you can turn it up. Your new FM 212R amplifier delivers world–class If you don't have the footswitch..you NEED it! The basic EQ that I have found most pleasing is Low 9-10, Mid 6 and Treble 8. |
