Go for it! The theater department was the best part of H.S. But I had paralyzing stage fright, so backstage stuff - props, costumes, make-up, set design - was my favorite job. The closest I wanted to be on stage was blending in with the chorus for crowd scenes.<p>Auditions can be very stressful. The basic process is you sign up to audition for a specific role but if they have someone else better for the part and you do well trying out for the same part, they may offer you a different role. I don't know the play well so I just looked up the synopsis. If you don't get Cinderella, Little Red or the Baker's Wife also look like good characters.</p><p>Not sure how flexible your director will be but if you can't hit the high notes, sing in a lower key so the high notes you can hit are in your range. Practice can help you widen your range. I work as a part time x ray tech for income. I did a couple of background work for madam secretary, mr.robot and the interestings and still get calls for some. I went to school for training on on-camera film/acting/techniques. However, I rarely get calls to even audition for films, let alone student films that I sign up for. I use backstage and sign up for characters that are listed as "Any ethnicities" (apparently) as well as Asian and Middle Eastern. I'm very confident when it comes to practicing my craft. I even went to an acting school in NYC in the producers club for six months of training. And the coaches said a couple of times to me that I'm a very good organic actor and I have an interesting face(whatever that means lol). And I asked my coaches if there was anything I needed to improve on. They replied to just keep practicing on "beats" between conversations since so far I did great in the classrooms. My question is: are indians/middle easterns really the minorities and most less likely to be considered for work or representation in the industry? and will that ever change in the near future?
