| Posted: 21 Sep 2016 04:54 AM PDT The most important thing is practice - being so well-rehearsed that you can't slip up no matter what. They say the best way to do a presentation is not to memorize it word for word, but maybe this is a good idea for people with bad stage fright. A way to memorize that gives you not just the words but your tones of voice and timing is what's called backward chaining. You make a sound recording, listen to it a few times, then listen to it except for a short part at the end, which you say out loud. Then you keep doing that, saying more and more on the end until you're saying the whole thing. Maybe the best book for this is How to Develop Self-Confidence and Influence People by Public Speaking by Dale Carnegie. |
