Question: What do you think of this for a comedic monologue?

Posted: 02 Oct 2014 08:35 PM PDT

So we have to perform a 60-90 second monologue as part of our audition for The Producers (college theatre). I still have about a month and a half until the actual audition so I'm just trying to get a bit of a head start. I was thinking of maybe trying Marshall's monologue about the burger from HIMYM?

Just a Burger? Just a burger. Robin, it's so much more than "just a burger." I mean…that first bite—oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then…a pickle! The most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a…a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, Robin. This is God, speaking to us in food."

Also I would love some ideas of other plays/tv shows/movies to look at. I don't really want one of this links to a monologue resource, I was thinking more names of comedy plays or possibly even specific scenes to look at from plays, movies, ect.

Thank you so much!

Question: Hey i wanna audition for motown the musical??

Posted: 02 Oct 2014 06:35 PM PDT

Well its depends if you are perfect for the role and they cant find a person 8-13 or 20-40. Also if you can pull off looking younger or older. Example: Im really 12 in the 7th grade, but I am short so I can pull off 4th grader. But of course its up to you to decide if you can be PERFECT enough or if you look like the ages they are looking for.
