Posted: 05 Oct 2014 08:33 PM PDT I have a test tomorrow in band. A first trumpet isn't going to be at a parade were marching at, so my director is asking for second trumpets to try out with Louie Louie first part. I've been practicing and got an after school lesson with one of the firsts. I can hit the highest note, and I can play it. Is there any way to for sure hit that when I'm playing. It's a high G. The firsts are counting on me to get the part, so I don't want to disappoint them. Please help me out! Thanks!
Posted: 05 Oct 2014 07:35 PM PDT Experienced Guitar players. How did you practice to get good? How do I start learning how to play solos? Ive been teaching myself guitar for about 2 and a half years. Ive gotten to a point where I can pretty much learn any rhythm section of a song in an hour or two. It may not be full speed but I can play it decently and keep up. I know my speed will come with time and Im not playing super slow. Many songs I can play at regular speed but I like to learn alot of metal songs where the tempo is just insane and some of those songs I have to play at about 70-80% to play through the whole song. Anyway long story short Im to a point where my friends that arent into rock are impressed by my playing if you know what I mean. You know those that know the songs that Im playing are like ok you did good but youre not playing the song fast enough. Anyway experienced guitar players, if you can remember back to when you were at my level of playing what were some practice drills that you know helped you advance and move to the next level? Please explain bc I feel like Im stuck. Also I cannot solo. I dont know if Im scared or what but how do I start improving my solo skills. I have rhythm down. Thanks guys

Question: Please Help!!! Changing instruments in marching band? Posted: 05 Oct 2014 07:31 PM PDT I think you should just man up and tell the director that you want to switch, trust me, I went through this many times. I wanted to leave band once but I was scared, but when I told the director, she said "Oh, that's fine, if you don't want to be in band, then I can't force you to stay." And she smiled.
Question: Best comedic female solo to perform at Thespians competition? Posted: 05 Oct 2014 07:11 PM PDT Best comedic female solo to perform at Thespians competition? I really want to do a solo female musical at thespians this year but I have too little faith in my singing ability to do a serious number, so I want to mask my flaws with a comedy number. What's the best silliest number you've seen as a female solo?
