Question: Do I have any chance of being Sandy? Posted: 01 Oct 2014 09:20 PM PDT Hi! First off, congratulations for getting a callback! You definitely have a good chance of getting Sandy, why else would you be called back? Don't worry about your hair colour, that's what wigs are for! A far as your chubbiness goes, it could add to the character. Sandy is supposed to be really sweet, innocent and naive (at the start anyway). It would be weird if you were drop dead gorgeous and model-thin because it doesn't suit the character. Don't worry about glasses either, if it's a big deal you can always wear contacts. Of course, there's nowhere in the script where it specifically says that Sandy has perfect vision! As for your height, I'm jealous! I would like to be shorter...I'm tall and I find that I can never play characters like Sandy because the balance between me and the male characters are off :( So...I think you have a brilliant chance at being Sandy! Good luck and remember that it's not the end of the world if you don't get the part. There will be a role for you someday.
Question: Indie film casting question.? Posted: 01 Oct 2014 07:21 PM PDT There's this South American indie production company who will be filming in my area in April (2015) for a feature film. I have no screen experience so I'm not asking for audition advice, however I am asking what I should do about extras casting. I've looked and looked and there aren't any extras casting calls (notices) yet. They don't start shooting until April, so maybe the time distance is why nothing's been said, but here's what I read from the local paper:"Want to star in the film? If you're interested, send your resume and a headshot to..." *insert company casting email*. Does this apply to extras as well? Just a bit confused on what to do from here in order to be an extra for the film. I have a professionally taken (though somewhat informal) headshot that was just taken a couple weeks ago, and I've read that the resume should be specifically tailored for extra work. I appreciate your patience if you've read this far! I apologize for the scatterbrained-ness. There is a lack of public information (as far as I know, at least) regarding details. Like I stated above, I have no screen experience, therefore I have no prior experience to compare this to. Should I wait (until it's closer to April) to email the resume and headshot or should I send it now? Should I wait it out and see if more information is posted? Thank you so much for your patience! :) Much appreciation,
Question: Musical Recommendations? Posted: 01 Oct 2014 06:51 PM PDT Musical Recommendations? My favorite musicals are Les Miserables, POTO, Into the Woods, Alddin/basically every Disney musical. What are some good broadway musicals You think I might like?
Question: Need Accompaniment For Audition Song? Posted: 01 Oct 2014 06:33 PM PDT Most auditions would require you to bring along the sheet music, and sing to a piano accompaniment, or perform unaccompanied. And you've left it far too late to do this with a karaoke-type CD accompaniment. You'd need at least a week to rehearse it. Pick another song which you've rehearsed really well. Good luck!
