| Question: No one seems to understand how driven I am? Posted: 29 Mar 2015 02:27 PM PDT Think about it. No one will buy your work just because your'e driven. The work will speak for itself. I would advise that you spend some of your time investigating how to market yourself as an artist, why or why not you should get an agent to represent you and what to pay them, how to get the best gallery to represent you etc. I doubt anyone ever bought a piece of art because the artist was "driven". They buy because they love the work. But to see it, love it, and then buy it you have to have it shown somewhere and set up a website with a good domain name. That's just as important as creating the work if you want to make any money from it to support yourself someday. |
| Question: What can people gain from going to art exhibitions? Posted: 29 Mar 2015 01:10 PM PDT You'll get to know other artists. You can see by the sold sticker dots on the work what has sold which tells you which art buyers prefer. And, you will be there with potential buyers for work you might have in a show so be nice and friendly to the people there. Oh, and you get to see how the gallery owner works the room and how persuasive he or she is. You may want to approach them about showing your work someday (or not). |
