| Question: Hi, I just got a new dslr camera and Im having trouble with the exposure.? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 10:29 AM PDT The fact that the meter on your camera says -2 means that the shot is going to be 2 stops underexposed - that's what it means!! There is not enough light indoors. The solutions; Cameras are not miracle workers - not enough light means not enough light! Surely your instructor has covered this in class? |

| Question: How long will it take to learn how to draw freehand? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 09:26 AM PDT Weeks? Weeks in not enough time to master drawing. Drawing times tons of time and patience. Copying images will help you because it's teaching your mind techniques and how certain things are supposed to move and look. Use pictures of models ( clothed ones if you don't like looking at nude ones ) and use them as a reference to learn things like proportions first. It's easy to copy an image but if you don't know where joints are and how certain body parts are supposed to move and how the facial features are aligned ect, it's not going to look that good. Even if they look like crap, you're going to have to sit there, finish the image, and then examine it. Pick at the things that you dislike and then remember to improve those things and make them look different in your next picture. Things that you can do is like I said above, look at pictures of models or even pictures of those wooden dolls online to learn the basics of the body. Also, another thing to help is looking at yourself in a mirror. Use your own body for reference. Examine how far apart your eyes are, where your ears align with them, how your hand looks and try to copy them. You gotta have patience and keep drawing. I'm going on my 9th year of drawing and I still don't consider myself as 'the best' and I draw daily. There's always going to be people better than you and theres gonna be someone whos worse than you. If you get frustrated because you don't get better in weeks than you're not going to get any better. Be patient. |
