| Question: Aspiring Actress, what to do to get agents attention? Posted: 14 Mar 2015 08:49 PM PDT You want simple direction, but there isn't one. You understand that agents need to make money - they do that by finding ther current clients auditions and jobs. They don't have time to sit down one-on-one with actors interested in getting into film. It's a business - you need to be able to market yourself to an agent to get them to want to interview you. If you don't know how "agents and stuff" work - learn it. Try talking with working actors in your area about how how the business works. Read trade websites (like https://www.alliance.org.au/infocentre )and books about managing an acting career. Take a class on the business end of things Since you don't have film experience - get some. Contact local film schools and ask how they find actors for student films. That's a good place to start. Network - get to know people in the industry. If you can impress an acting teacher, director or someone else in the industry they may be willing to refer you to an agent. Good luck. |

| Question: How was hamlet afraid of death? Posted: 14 Mar 2015 07:46 PM PDT Hamlet's dilemma is the pain of life that he must endure or the uncertainty of death. We see that Hamlet is dissatisfied with life and lists many things that trouble him but he is not sure what death will bring him. He is thinking that the experience of death itself maybe worse than life itself. Hamlet knows that the church explicitly forbids suicide because then your soul will be in eternal damnation. Thus the famous quote from the bible, "the wages of sin is death." For Hamlet, death is an undiscovered country where no traveler returns. It is a one way ticket where there are no take-backs - a possibility that life might be bad but death could be worse. Additional information below. |
