Is 17 to late to become an actor??!?

I'm 16 turning 17, I love acting, it's what I really wanna do with my life, and I'm willing to dedicate myself to the craft, but I need to know if it's to late, I have only done a tiny bit of drama at school,

Are actors and actresses told exactly what to wear head to toe on set?

Particularly I want to know how specific everything is. Like do actors get to choose whether they wear shoes and socks in a scene or are they told to only wear this shirt and nothing else?

I am 18 years old currently in college with an art major looking to change soon to pursue an acting major.

I am aware that the industry is extremely difficult and there will not be a steady paycheck since it's hard to find work to begin with due to the competitive nature of acting.

What are some good or great jobs that I should consider just to get by with after becoming an actor and also what else should I study in college aside from acting that will help me find a safety job while acting and why?

I am trying to attend the best performing arts school for Vocal Music and I am looking for a song! On the website It says it must be a patriotic song, opera, or church hymn. Do you think I might get the part?

I'm trying out for Ariel in my schools musical. I'm a 7th grader and usually 8th graders get the main role. But I am the best singer and actor do you think I have a chance? The girl I'm against is an 8th grader but again im the best singer and actor in the play group.
