| Question: Were Jews ever expelled from Ireland? Posted: 14 Aug 2016 04:49 AM PDT No. The English colony around Dublin known as the Pale of Settlement did, in accordance with English Law, possibly expelled any Jews living in the region; although the numbers would have been very small, and the Jews may simply have moved to parts of Ireland not controlled by the English. And there were certainly Jews in Ireland before Cromwell allowed them back - some Portuguese Jews arrived in the 1400s. www.jewishireland.org/irish-jewish-hist... |
| Question: Why is FDR so highly rated? Posted: 14 Aug 2016 04:27 AM PDT Why is Franklin Roosevelt so highly rated. He's listed as one of the three best presidents. Yet it is now being seen that the New Deal exacerbated and extended the Great Depression. His court packing scheme was a full frontal assault on the checks and balances and was violation of his oath to preserve, defend and protect the Constitution. Perhaps worst of all was his internment of Japanese-Americans without due process. again getting his SC nominees to disregard the Constitution. |
