| Question: Disney audition resume and headshot? Posted: 15 Aug 2016 09:12 PM PDT A Disney park character is someone who dresses up as one of the Disney characters. Either you will be in a mascot suit, or if you can be made to resemble--say--one of the Disney "princesses", and interact with Disney guests, then that is what they are really looking for. Disney calls virtually ALL of its employees "cast members" even if they work as a cashier in one of their souvenir shops. This is NOT an real acting job. They are not casting movie or television roles, and unless you DO have singing, dancing, and acting experience, it is highly unlikely you will get a job actually entertaining in any of their stage shows. A resume is useful if you actually have something to put on it. If there is NOTHING (not even a stint working as a character in a haunted house), then you have no resume. A headshot is useful since it allows them to see what you look like, because in many cases you need to have a certain look to be hired. The links Katrina E. has listed are the ONLY Disney career links out there. There are FAKE sites that LOOK like Disney sites, but are usually connected with some sort of scam. Things to remember...Disney NEVER charges you to apply for jobs or auditions or makes you pay them directly for lessons, resumes, portfolios, etc. If this is not the site you found your job notice, AGAIN, beware! |

| Posted: 15 Aug 2016 06:37 PM PDT Maybe you should ask advice of your teachers in your PERFORMING arts class. If they can't even offer you any advice or insight, then it's not much of a class. Right now, you should concentrate on what you can learn out of the class. Take any other theater-related class. Learn to sing and dance even if you are primarily interested in "regular" acting. The more skills you have, the more marketable you are. Lots of girls want to become actresses as badly as you do, so you need to go beyond just "dreaming" and do something to learn about acting. Be sure to try out for anything your school is performing, and keep an eye out for auditions at community theatres. They occasionally have plays that might need a child or teen actor. Many community theatres also have youth workshops and youth productions, where they want all kids and teens. |
