My fictional story is about a 14 year old mother fleeing a very religious country to a more liberal one with her two daughters, a 3 year old and a 2 year old, while pregnant with a third. The reason behind her journey is that her country is so backwards that women can't even go outside without her father or husband. Just to the north, there is a FAR more liberal country. The reason why is the king of the northern country has nine daughters. He and his wife really wanted a son, bad enough to go through nine pregnancies, but no such luck. However, since he had all girls to work with, he changed the laws so women were considered equal to men, unheard of in his area of the world. This made his country VERY popular with the women suffering in the surrounding countries. |

| Question: Why do people hate,“The Grapes of Wrath”? Posted: 23 Aug 2014 03:21 AM PDT Why do people hate,"The Grapes of Wrath"? I'm going into my sophomore effort for high school (10th grade) and we hade to read this book over the summer. Though the first few chapters were pretty boring, it picks up, and becomes pretty interesting. |
